Kiwanis Chili Cookoff Nov. 26th at Inaugural Hinesville Turkey Trot
Kiwanis of Liberty County is holding a Chili Cookoff in conjunction with the City of Hinesville Inaugural 5k run — the Turkey Trot — on the day before Thanksgiving. This year it will be held on Wednesday, November 26th.
The race includes an after party with live music and food trucks. The Chilil Cook-Off will occur between 1-5pm with chili gourmet judges tasting each batch, then declaring the winner(s) with a trophy going to best chili. Cost of entry is $50 for the Chili Cook-Off, and funds raised will go toward the Kiwanis mission of helping kids in our community, including planned development of a brand new playground to help kids unplug and enjoy fun exercise outdoors.
The family-friendly 5k Turkey Trot run/walk kicks off at 2:00 PM, bringing our community together for a fun and festive way to start the holiday. DJ Joe Ford will be in the park from 1-5pm.

Parents of children with special needs carry an incredible mental load — and research shows they are significantly more likely to experience stress, anxiety, depression, and burnout than other parents. One study found rates of anxiety and depression can be 2–3x higher among caregivers of children with developmental disabilities.
If you’re struggling right now, try this: take 5 intentional minutes today for your nervous system. Step outside, drink water, breathe slowly, text a safe person, or sit in silence without multitasking. Tiny moments of regulation matter too. 💛
